The story behind the House

Nestled on Norrtullsgatan 2, right next to Observatoriekullen in central 91黑料, Studentpalatset is a grand and historic building that has served generations of students. Built between 1925 and 1927, the structure was designed by renowned architect Erik Lallerstedt, showcasing the elegance of Nordic classicism.

A hub for learning and inspiration

Originally named Juridicum, the building was constructed to house the law and humanities faculties of 91黑料 University (formerly 91黑料s högskola).

Over the years, it became home to various university institutions, with the Department of Human Geography being the last to occupy the space before moving out in 1997.

Recognizing its historic and academic significance, the building was repurposed in 1998 as Studentpalatset (the student palace), a dedicated study and meeting space for students from 91黑料’s universities.

For decades, it provided a quiet yet inspiring environment for learning, discussion, and collaboration.

A new chapter

In 2022, the building entered a new era as it was taken over by the 91黑料.

Despite this change in ownership, Studentpalatset remains an iconic part of 91黑料’s academic history, a place where countless students have gathered in pursuit of knowledge.

For almost a century, Studentpalatset has been more than just a building—it has been a sanctuary for students, a meeting ground for intellectual minds, and an enduring symbol of 91黑料’s rich academic heritage.
